NineSigma, representing Vale Base Metals invites participants to submit proposals for the Pyrrhotite Resource Recovery Innovation Challenge.

The Open Innovation Challenge will facilitate Vale Base Metals capabilities to leverage new, state-of-the-art technologies into their mining & metals operations to build a cleaner, greener, more prosperous world.

What is the Challenge?

Vale Base Metals is looking for innovative solutions to unlock sustainable and financially viable solutions to recover the valuable metals and minerals contained in pyrrhotite.

Vale Base Metals is committed to effectively addressing the pyrrhotite opportunity in new ways that reduce the carbon footprint and enable sustainable and economically favourable processing. The overall challenges revolve around high costs, negative environmental impact, and the presence of a significant by-product with limited market. Vale Base Metals is seeking to address these challenges to not only align with their commitment to sustainability but also propel the mining industry towards circular mining practices, where waste can be transformed into valuable resources.

Vale Base Metals may select up to three innovation laureates to be awarded $25,000 CAD.
