Developing your Business Pipeline Through Open Innovation

By accessing NineSigma’s networks of start-ups, small and medium sized companies Solvay and Axel‘One obtained a pipeline of new, international users of Solvay’s technologies.

Solvay and Axel‘One have developed a scale up platform for polymers (AdChem4) that everyone in the polymer research and development ecosystem can access to push their promising developments towards prototyping and pilot scale manufacturing.

They engaged NineSigma to find partners to use this platform and their consulting services.

Through our Open Innovation Program, NineSigma identified 37 organizations that were interested in partnering, 16 companies were invited for an immediate collaboration and 16 others were selected for collaboration in the long term.

Solvay is an international science company whose activities lies in materials, chemicals and solutions. Solvay brings advancements in planes, cars, batteries, smart and medical

devices, water, and air treatment, to solve critical industrial, social and environmental challenges. Axel’One is the French collaborative innovation platform in the Chemistry

and Environment sector created in 2011 and dedicated to smart processes and innovative materials.

NineSigma collaborated with Polymeris, Solvay and Axel’One to promote innovation and sustainability in the plastics and polymer industry. Solvay and Axel`One have established a state-of-art technology platform `AdChem4` to scale up new polymer processes.

NineSigma reached out to our active, global innovation networks in the chemistry sector to find partners to use this platform in the short and medium term. We found companies that already had the pre-requisite technology and wanted to scale up their polymer synthesis process to accelerate the industrialization and reduce time-to-market of their sustainable polymers in an innovative ecosystem.
