RFP Title
NineSigma, representing a major automotive parts manufacturer, seeks technologies for automatic gain control and automatic parameter identification of permanent magnet synchronous motors.
Details of target motors
Technology requirements
The Client seeks technology that can be applied to either A or B listed below for the motors the Client possesses. It is not necessary for all requirements to be met at this point; proposals are welcome if there is a good chance of meeting them through further development by June 2019.
A. Automatic calibration of motors
The Client seeks technologies/systems that enable automatic motor calibration by gain control to meet the targets specified by the Client on the following items:
B. Automatic parameter identification
The Client seeks technologies/systems that are capable of automatic identification of the following motor parameters:
Possible Approaches
The Client expects technologies such as the following, but is open to others:
Approaches Not of Interest
The following approaches are not of interest:
Background
The Client is engaged in the development of automobile motors. Motors are becoming increasingly more high-speed in a quest of further energy saving and higher performance of devices. Next-generation high-speed motors are more complex and have more requirements for gain control compared to conventional motors. While the Client has been working on the development to solve these issues, advancement in information technology devices and the emergence of new algorithms such as machine learning bring about dramatic progresses in data analysis and processing technology. The Client has therefore decided to make this RFP to reduce the man-hour required for the development of automatic gain control of next-generation motors and automatic parameter identification.
Notes on Response
Proposal should not include confidential information. Supplemental files may be submitted in addition to the proposal.
Response evaluation
The client will evaluate all responses with the following criteria.
Anticipated Project Process
After the submission due date, the client will review all submitted proposals. NineSigma will send the review results to each proposer 6-8 weeks after the due date. The client possibly asks clarifying questions before selecting the most suitable candidates for collaboration. The client will select best candidates through evaluations. During the selection process, the client may execute NDA with selected respondents, seek further information disclosure, and discuss specific development targets or potential opportunities.
The client will execute necessary agreements with the selected respondents and move to the advanced development phase. Specifics of any collaboration will be determined through consultation with the concerned parties.
