RFP Title
NineSigma, representing a leading manufacturer with sales of ten billion dollars, seeks microencapsulation technologies capable of extended release of hair-care ingredients. The Client look forward to a wide-range of proposals used in different fields such as DDS technology of pharmaceutical products and foods in addition to technologies that are already being applied to hair-care ingredients. They would like to select promising materials through sample tests.
The Client is a leading manufacturer thinking of encapsulating hair-care ingredients in microcapsules capable of extended release to better sustain the effects of the ingredients.
The Client has been investigating techniques using different materials, but encountered problems: for instance, one having no extended release effects while another having extended release effects but deteriorated hair appearance and texture when touched.
On the other hand, such microencapsulation technologies of effective ingredients are widely used in other areas such as pharmaceutical products and foods, which led to an idea that some technologies developed in other areas may be applicable to the requirements of the Client, and subsequently to the decision to invite proposals this time.
Requirements for microencapsulation
If there is possibility that the above requirements may be met in the future, the shell material and thickness of the capsules can be anything.
