Air Liquide Scientific Challenge Edition 3

Through its new Scientific Challenge, Air Liquide invites the scientific & innovation communities to propose disruptive solutions to decarbonize the industrial ecosystems, based on the Essential Small Molecules, Data and related technologies.

Following the success of the past editions of Air Liquide Scientific Challenge in 2016 and 2019, the Group is thrilled to announce the Air Liquide Scientific Challenge Edition 3, designed to advance research in an open innovation approach.

The Air Liquide Scientific Challenge aims to identify up to 3 laureates. A scientific prize of €50,000 will be awarded to each of the laureate teams at the end of 2023. Moreover, the Group will support collaborations (up to four years) with a total funding up to €1 million per project to develop the selected scientific proposals and transform them into market-tailored technologies.

To submit your solution, use our platform by 10 March, 2023 to send a written proposal, highlighting the scientific approach and demonstration path to validate the feasibility of the proposed solution and its applications. Images and videos (with links if relevant) can be part of the proposal, which should be your own creation and free of third party intellectual property.

Please refer to the Terms & Conditions document and read all criteria.

Final Jury

Your proposal will have the privilege of being reviewed by renowned scientists. For the Air Liquide Scientific Challenge Edition 3, the awarded propositions will be selected by a prestigious Jury composed of Air Liquide experts and two international awarded researchers:

 Webinars

The Air Liquide Scientific Challenge Edition 3 aims at decarbonizing the industrial ecosystems by addressing 3 Topics:

Air Liquide invites proposals to develop secure, federated data and information sharing systems that allow data from different companies in industrial ecosystems to be shared and used in order to optimize energy, CO2 emissions or resource use, preserving data confidentiallity & integrity.

Air Liquide invites proposals to develop innovative energy storage solutions that use the small molecules Air Liquide produces (H2, O2, N2, CO2, CO and noble gases), or show synergy with our gas production processes (similar operation conditions, utilities, raw materials, etc.)

Air Liquide invites proposals to develop novel solutions to improve the flexibility of industrial reactors for Steam-Methane Reforming reaction by bringing electrical heat directly to the location of the reaction, inside the reactor and as close as possible to the reactor catalyst.
